Good Samaritan killed while trying to extinguish car fire in Santiago Canyon

SANTIAGO CANYON — A Good Samaritan who stopped to help put out a car fire was killed Monday afternoon when a flatbed truck driver backed over him, authorities said.
The incident was reported about 4:15 p.m. Monday, April 10, on the northbound 241 toll road south of Santiago Canyon Road, said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.
