For second year, UCI was most popular for freshmen applicants in UC system

For the second consecutive year, UC Irvine received more applications from soon-to-be freshmen in the state than any other campus in the University of California system.
The university received 72,391 applications from California high school students – 43 percent of which came from underrepresented-minority students and nearly half of which came from students who would be the first in their family to go to college.
Interest in the campus grew by more than 2,000 from last year.
