Firefighters battling brush fire at Camp Pendleton

SAN CLEMENTE — Camp Pendleton and Orange County firefighters are battling a vegetation fire on Cristianitos Road near the San Mateo Campground, according to base officials.
Marine officials shared via Twitter just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, that the fire was 10 to 15 acres. Just before 8 p.m., the fire had grown to 300 acres, according to a tweet by the base.
The Orange County Fire Authority said they sent a strike team to assist. There are “multiple off base resources&rdqu
