Fire near Griffith Park closes LA Zoo, some animals moved

Los Angeles Zoo staff evacuated several birds and smaller primates and closed its doors Friday due to a brush fire that charred 30 acres.
The fire, which is in heavy brush, began shortly after 7 a.m. and is burning near Griffith Park and behind the Los Angeles Zoo. No injuries and damages have been reported. No residents were evacuated.
