Fire damages house under construction in Seal Beach

SEAL BEACH A house under construction in Seal Beach was heavily damaged by fire early Friday, Jan. 5.
Around 1 a.m., firefighters responded to the 700 block of 2nd Street where they found the two-story dwelling in flames, Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz said.
The blaze originated at the rear of the structure and caused minor damage to a pair of adjacent homes, he said. A utility pole also caught fire causing power lines to drop to the ground.
