Fire at Camp Pendleton burns 60 acres

A wildfire that began late Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Camp Pendleton has burned about 60 acres, according to base officials.
The blaze was reported about 11:45 p.m. in the San Mateo helicopter landing zone,  said Camp Pendleton spokesman Capt. Brian B Villiard.
The fire’s progress was stopped around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday. There are no reports of structures threatened,  Villiard said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
