Fatburger owner is acquiring Johnny Rockets

Lake Forest-based Johnny Rockets is being acquired by Fatburger owner Fat Brands for roughly $25 million, according to news reports.
Fat Brands is buying the 1950s diner-style chain from private equity firm Sun Capital Partners Inc., according to Reuters.
Johnny Rockets debuted in 1986 on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. It gained a following with its vintage, 1950s diner style decor, burgers and ice cream shakes.
