Fairview Park vernal pools to get fencing

Eight vernal pools at Fairview Park will get much-needed fencing in an effort to protect that area’s biological habitat and prevent encroachment from visitors.
Costa Mesa plans to spend upwards of $150,000 to install 6,500 linear feet of cable rail fencing around seven vernal pools on the park’s west side and one on the east side.
The project is in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
