Eucalyptus trees in Laguna’s downtown given reprieve — for now
Dozens of giant eucalyptus trees in Laguna’s downtown were wrapped in yellow ribbons earlier this week, targeted for removal.
But on Wednesday, Feb. 26, those ribbons were gone and so were immediate plans to eliminate the trees.
The trees — along Forest Avenue and Broadway Street — are being reviewed as part of a broader $1.6 million plan to “refresh” the downtown. The project could call for the removal of all or some of the trees.
