End America’s endless and unpopular wars abroad
Since 2001, the United States has been engaged in perpetual war. Have these wars been worth the cost? Most Americans, and most post-Sept. 11 military veterans, say no, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey.
According to the Costs of War project, America’s post-9/11 wars have resulted in direct war deaths of between 480,000 and 507,000 people. This includes over 38,000 civilians in Afghanistan and upward of 204,575 in Iraq, and nearly 7,000 American military members.
