Emergency responders from around the state will stick around in Ridgecrest

Emergency fire crews and equipment from around the state will remain on standby in the Ridgecrest area for the near future, “in case something happens,” Kern County Fire Department Battalion Chief Dionisio Mitchell said.
A town hall meeting was underway late Sunday afternoon in Ridgecrest at the Kerr-McGee Community Center at 100 W. California Ave. in the city, the same location as a Red Cross shelter that reported providing service for at least 340 people since it opened Thursday. S
