El Toro’s Tobin, Woodbridge’s Garner survive challenging first day at CIF State Track Finals

CLOVIS – The competition Friday in the 99th CIF State Track and Field Championships at Buchanan High of Clovis was about one thing: survival.
To have a chance at winning a title Saturday, the athletes knew they had to do enough to qualify for the finals.
El Toro’s Hannah Tobin had to put up a fight in her heat of the girls 1,600 meters.
