El Dorado fire reaches 81% containment and isn’t growing
The El Dorado fire in the San Bernardino National Forest was 81% contained as of Thursday morning, Sept. 24, with the estimated acreage it has rolled through unchanged from the night before, Cal Fire officials said.
So far, the El Dorado has destroyed an estimated 22,601 acres.
The focus on Thursday remained holding the fire south of Highway 38, with firefighters working on hot spots near Angelus Oaks, Jenks Lake and near the west fork of Barton Creek.
