Easter is a time for hope

Easter is the most joyous occasion in Christendom, as Christians celebrate the resurrection of Jesus after his crucifixion on Good Friday (the term “good” coming from an older definition meaning “pious”). Capping a week often filled with fasting and prayer, Sunday services are awash with flowers, processions, feasts and – most important, perhaps – fellowship. It’s typically a lovely time across the country, regardless of one’s religious beliefs.
