Ducks goalie Ryan Miller, 39, explains why he came back

One day last spring, Ryan Miller laid his goalie pads on the ground as he might before a practice or a game and snapped a photo. He then sent it to Sudarshan Maharaj, the Ducks’ goaltending coach, who knew exactly what it meant.
Miller wasn’t going to hang ’em up. He wasn’t going to skate off into the sunset. He wasn’t going to retire somewhere warm and sit on a porch, spinning grand tales about his days as one of the league’s premier stoppers of hockey pucks.
