Ducks fire Randy Carlyle, name GM Bob Murray interim coach

After seven consecutive losses and 19 in 21 games and after falling to the bottom of the Western Conference standings, Ducks general manager Bob Murray finally fired Randy Carlyle as coach Sunday morning. Murray will coach the team for the remainder of the season.
The Ducks (21-26-9) will name a new coach at season’s end. Dallas Eakins, coach of the Ducks’ successful AHL team in San Diego, could be among the favorites to become the team’s next coach.
