Dry lightning possible in Long Beach

The threat of fire hovered over Long Beach today because of gusty winds, low humidity, and the possibility of dry lightning, forecasters said. Forecasted high temperatures today are 79 in Avalon, 88 in Long Beach, 79 in Newport Beach, 80 in Laguna Beach and 96 in Anaheim.
