Re: “Consider different approach to combatting drug abuse” [Opinion, Oct. 20]: Our opioid crisis is, indeed, a serious issue, but I couldn’t agree more that it is also a predictable and inevitable consequence of a much bigger crisis — that seemingly eternal and yet utter failure we call our “drug war.”
