Drought-busting rains bring vibrancy and a vision for how to handle future dry runs

Heavy winter rain was a wet blanket for tee sheets but helped regional golf courses recover from the drought and produce lush conditions not seen in years at many sites.
While the vibrant landscapes are nice, digging below the surface also shows how the wet winter helped courses, such as Torrey Pines, with golf operations director Mark Marney saying the La Jolla site saved $75,000 on water in February alone.
