Don Mott, former El Modena athletic director, dies

Don Mott, who served as El Modena High’s athletic director for 23 years, died Wednesday. He was 83.
His son Darin said his father died of natural causes. Don Mott had suffered dementia the past several months.
Mott also was El Modena’s baseball coach.
He worked at El Modena from 1972 to 2000. He became the school’s athletic director in 1977 and spent five years as the baseball coach.
Darin, better known as “Rowdy” when he was at El Modena as a student and later as a
