Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger made adjustments to pull out of mini ‘slump’
LOS ANGELES — A Cody Bellinger “slump” would be a decent season for many major league hitters.
In 18 games from May 22 to June 11, Bellinger’s batting average fell from .404 to a season-low .352. In each of the final 12 games, he did not hit a home run. His walk and strikeout rates didn’t suffer, however, and Bellinger reached base at a .340 clip. Manager Dave Roberts never dropped his 23-year-old cleanup hitter any lower in the lineup.
