Dodgers’ Cody Bellinger agrees to $16.1 million, 1-year deal, avoids arbitration

LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers have reached agreement on a one-year contract with outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger, avoiding arbitration with the 2019 National League Most Valuable Player.
The 25-year-old Bellinger will reportedly earn $16.1 million after receiving an $11.5 million salary in 2020 (prorated for the shortened season), a record for a first-year arbitration-eligible player.
