Dodgers’ breakout slugger Max Muncy has accepted invitation to Home Run Derby

SAN DIEGO — Max Muncy is obviously new at this.
The Dodgers infielder revealed on a radio show Monday afternoon that he had accepted an invitation to participate in the Home Run Derby at the All-Star Game next week. An hour later, Muncy had been told he broke protocol and declined to answer questions about the Derby when talking to reporters.
A little later, MLB confirmed that Muncy will be one of the participants in Washington next week, bringing things full circle.
