Dick Roche has spent decades on Uni football’s sidelines

University High’s football team will celebrate the program’s 50th anniversary this fall and assistant coach Dick Roche, who has been around for much of that time, will be in his usual spot.
The 78-year-old Roche, who has lived in Irvine since 1980, is showing no signs of slowing up and will be on the coaching staff for new varsity head coach Chris Hernandez.
