Deep marine layer causes early morning drizzle along Orange County’s coast

A heavy marine layer led to light rain and slick roads along coastal Orange County Tuesday morning, Aug. 15.
But it was expected to be “a really nice afternoon,” a National Weather Service official said.
As of 9:30 a.m., Laguna Beach and Newport Coast were the only Orange County areas to report measurable rainfall – about one-hundredth of an inch.
