Deadly crash on Ortega Highway near Caspers Wilderness Park

A person died in a crash on Ortega Highway near Caspers Wilderness Park on Tuesday morning, July 17, authorities said.
A truck and SUV crashed head-on just before 5:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. A coroner was called out to the crash, which happened just east of Rancho Carrillo Road. The road was closed while authorities worked at the scene.
