Dave Roberts on Dodgers’ offensive woes: ‘It happens every year’

LOS ANGELES — Dodgers manager Dave Roberts got defensive Wednesday when asked about the offensive potholes in his lineup.
Four of the starting nine went into Wednesday’s game with batting averages below .200. Only two (Mookie Betts at .281 and A.J. Pollock at .280) were over .250 and the team had batted a collective .199 in the previous eight games (four wins and four losses).
