Dancers are playing with fire – literally – at Long Beach’s Polynesia Festival

It was just another Saturday night for Johnathan Milford. He remained composed – almost as if he wasn’t twirling a knife, set ablaze on both both ends – to the beat of loud drums.
The Hawaiian resident’s flawless, fiery performance in front of hundreds of amazed spectators in Long Beach earned him a first-place finish in the Weekend in –’s fire knife competition for 9 to 12-year-olds.
