Dana Point nonprofit group empowers special-needs teens with summer styling party

Typically out of operation on Sundays, the five chairs in Laguna Hills men’s hair salon Danckuts were filled, fully booked for a late-morning party in full swing on Sunday, July 8.
From the back of the shop, a partygoer grabbed the vintage, chrome-plated microphone, turning temporary frontman for an evident favorite of his, Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.” Backed by gentle electric-guitar chords, the whole shop stopped to watch the show.
