Dana Point hotel plans stalled by Coastal Commission over concerns for low-cost lodging
Plans to replace Cannons ocean-view restaurant in Dana Point with a 100-room resort were put on hold Wednesday by the state Coastal Commission, whose concerns included the apparent absence of “lower-cost” lodgings as part of the project.
The commission’s mission of making the coast accessible to everyone includes an effort to ensure there are affordable places to spend the night.
