DA forms task force to investigate horse deaths at Santa Anita for possible criminal wrongdoing

Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey, who last month opened a criminal investigation into horse deaths at Santa Anita Park, on Tuesday announced that she has formed a task force to determine whether “unlawful conduct or conditions” at the racetrack have affected equine safety.
In a statement, Lacey said the panel will consist of “experienced deputy district attorneys and sworn peace officers with varied expertise within my office who will thoroughly investigate and
