Cypress loses a close one in National Classic baseball final

Cypress advanced to the National Classic championship game while averaging nine runs a game in their first three games of the baseball tournament.
The Centurions offense cooled down Thursday. Cypress lost to Aquinas of San Bernardino 2-1 in the tournament championship game at Cypress High.
Cypress, which won the National Classic championship in 2022 and ‘23, is 11-8.
Aquinas is 12-1. Aquinas’ only loss was to Huntington Beach in the first round of the Boras Classic South tournament.
