Cypress breaks ground on new $13.2 million park

A horse racer may not necessarily be a good horse trader, but in the case of Ed “Doc” Allred and the Los Alamitos Race Course, it helped to make a goodwill gesture in negotiations.
On Friday, Nov.13, the city of Cypress celebrated the largess of Allred and the track when it broke ground at the location of its newest park, a donated 9-acre parcel at the corner of Lexington Drive and Cerritos Avenue. Construction is slated to be completed by fall 2021.
