Eleven days later, Cynthia Calvillo already has her next fight.
Coming off a first-round submission of Poliana Botelho on Nov. 17 in Buenos Aires, the 13th-ranked strawweight will challenge 10th-ranked Cortney Casey at UFC 233 on Jan. 26 at Honda Center.
Fighting out of with Team Alpha Male, Calvillo (7-1) failed to make 116 pounds against Botelho but redeemed herself by forcing a tapout due to a rear-naked choke with just 12 seconds left in the opening round.
