County’s second large-scale COVID test site to open at OC fairgrounds — expected to help with surge in tests for schools

A drive-thru coronavirus testing site at the OC Fair & Event Center will add capacity to the system, just in time to handle a potential flood of local school staff and students hoping to return to in-person instruction.
The fairgrounds test site, which will open Wednesday, Aug. 26, will start with up to 500 tests a day and ramp up to 1,000 tests daily by next week, Orange County Health Care Agency spokeswoman Jessica Good said. It is expected to operate from 7 a.m.  to 3 p.m. weekdays u
