Council races still up in air in 2 districts

As of Tuesday afternoon, Denise Barnes, a 61-year-old small-business owner, had a 133-vote lead over retired former Santa Ana police officer Steven Chavez Lodge for the newly created seat to represent residents of District 1, which covers West Anaheim. Incumbent Jordan Brandman was leading Long Beach State professor Jose F. Moreno by 312 votes to represent District 3, which covers neighborhoods in the downtown and City Hall areas.
