Coroner identifies Good Samaritan killed while trying to put out car fire

IRVINE A 27-year-old man who died while trying to help put out a car fire on the 241 toll road in Santiago Canyon was identified by the coroner’s office as Gilbert Avila Sandoval of Northridge.
The incident was reported about 4:15 p.m. Monday, April 10. A Lincoln sedan burst into flames, the Orange County Fire Authority said after the incident.
