Corky Carroll: Hanging out with ‘Tinker’ — local surfboard maker who became Bruce Springsteen’s first manager

I recently read Bruce Springsteen’s autobiography — well, actually, I listened to the audiobook. Very cool — he narrates it himself and is excellent at telling the story. I am a big fan of his music and was looking forward to this, plus we have a little connection through a dude who goes by the nickname “Tinker.”
Tinker’s real name is Carl West. In the early 1960s he worked for Wardy Surfboards in Laguna Beach as a glasser (the guy who does the fiberglassing)
