Coombs honored as CIF Model Coach

Godinez boys basketball coach Greg Coombs today was named a recipient of the CIF Model Coach Award.
The CIF State honored 13 coaches today with the Model Coach Award. Coombs is the only Orange County coach to receive the recognition this school year.
Coombs’ coaching career covers 36 years, with those years spread among three Santa Ana public schools — Santa Ana, Century and Godinez. Coombs also is Godinez’ athletic director and is president of the Southern California Interscho
