‘Comeback kid’ Katie McLaughlin blazes to second in 100 butterfly at Phillips 66 Nationals

Katie McLaughlin completed her own comeback Friday night at the Phillips 66 USA Swimming National Championships in Irvine.
The Cal senior-to-be finished a strong second in the women’s 100-meter butterfly at the Woollett Aquatics Center, likely qualifying for her first Pan Pacific Championships team.
McLaughlin blazed a lifetime-best time of 57.51 seconds – 10th fastest in the world – in finishing second to Olympian Kelsi Dahlia (57.83), formerly known as Worrell.
