Colonies corruption case halts so jury and defendants can view eclipse
At the Colonies bribery trial in San Bernardino, jurors were given a 45-minute break by Judge Michael A. Smith just before 10 a.m. to observe the eclipse.
“If you don’t have the appropriate glasses, do not look directly at the sun,” Smith said.
Jurors had asked for the special break last week. The trial is in final arguments.
Defendant Paul Biane and his parents joined several other people outside the San Bernardino Justice Center in downtown San Bernardino to watch the event.
