Capistrano Unified extends school closure through May 1 because of coronavirus

Capistrano Unified School District has joined districts throughout Orange County by extending its school closures three weeks into early May because of the coronavirus crisis, a move that casts doubt to whether high school sports will resume this spring.
The district’s Board of Trustees met Wednesday and extended its shutdown through May 1.
Capistrano initially anticipated an April 6 return and later hoped to open schools on April 13.
