Camp Pendleton issues noise advisory as it begins 24-hour mortar firing

Mortar units are scheduled to conduct 24-hour firing beginning Thursday night, July 20 and continuing through July 27, Camp Pendleton reported in a tweet.
A majority of the firing will take place during late-night and early morning hours, according to Camp Pendleton.
One of the impact areas is a few miles from San Clemente.
Depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of explosions might be amplified and hea
