California governor orders some bars — including in L.A. County — to close as U.S. posts record COVID cases

In a Twitter post Sunday afternoon, Gov. Gavin Newsom ordered the closure of bars in seven California counties.
The message, posted by the governor around noon, said that “due to the rising spread of #COVID19, CA is ordering bars to close in Fresno, Imperial, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, San Joaquin and Tulare.
The state is recommending that bars also close in the following eight counties: Contra Costa, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, Santa Clara, Stanislaus and Ventura.
