Cal State Fullerton drops season opener at BYU

PROVO, Utah — Cal State Fullerton senior Austen Awosika had 16 points, but the BYU backcourt of Alex Barcello and TJ Haws scored 17 points apiece as the Cougars defeated the Titans 76-58 in the nonconference season opener for both programs on Tuesday night.
BYU had the better shooting night inside and outside, and that was the difference as the Cougars built a 38-24 lead by halftime and led by at least 13 points throughout the second half.
Barcello was 7 for 9 from the floor, including 3 o
