Burt Call hired as baseball coach at Villa Park

Burt Call, whose contract as Mater Dei’s baseball coach was not renewed after the 2018 season, has been hired as the head coach at Villa Park.
Call coached Mater Dei for 19 seasons. The Monarchs won eight league championships and two CIF-Southern Section championships during his tenure. They also twice won the National High School Invitational tournament.
Mater Dei this past spring finished 10-19 overall and 5-10 in the Trinity League. It was a rare non-playoffs season for Monarchs basebal
