Brea school officials say they prepare for an active shooter situation

After the horrific mass shooting at Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., last month I wondered what safety policies were practiced in Brea’s schools.
If it was up to me, every school would have metal detectors and cameras and visitors would have to show their ID and have their purse or bags inspected before leaving the check-in area. But it is not up to me, so I checked what safety measures are in place in our schools.
