Sometimes getting rejected is a good thing.
Take Jaime Munguia. The terror from Tijuana was being considered as a replacement for Canelo Alvarez, who was supposed to tangle with middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin in a May 5 rematch in Las Vegas.
