Boxing: Andrew Cancio dethrones Alberto Machado by knockout

Andrew Cancio is proud to be a construction technician for the Southern California Gas Company. He will no doubt take great pride in now being able to call himself a world champion.
Cancio, of Oxnard via Blythe, entered his challenge to super featherweight champion Alberto Machado of Puerto Rico as a heavy underdog at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio. Machado, 28, was unbeaten with a terrific knockout ratio, and Cancio had four losses and retired for 20 months before returning in April.
