Boat capsizes at Lower Trestles as surfers try to score epic, empty waves

The lure of empty waves at Lower Trestles was tempting, but the plan was foiled by the ocean.
A live Surfline.com cam showed a boat at the famed surf break just south of San Clemente pounded by waves Wednesday afternoon and pushed to shore as State Parks lifeguards watched and waited for the vessel to hit dry land.
It wasn’t immediately known whose boat it was, if they indeed caught any waves or if they’d face a fine for their attempts to bring in a boat to surf perfect 4- to 6-foot
